Introductory Certificate

No prior knowledge or experience in project management is required for this certificate. It is designed for anyone looking to start a successful career in project management or those wanting to understand the principles of project management excellence.

What is assessed?
Assessment will be through a 60 question, multiple-choice exam taken over one hour.

The assessment will cover the principles of project management, including:

• Planning and scheduling
• Communications
• Quality management
• Teamwork
• Resource management
• Risk management
• Handover
• Review

The syllabus is designed to be taught through a two day training course run by an APM Accredited Provider.

Successful candidates will be able to understand the language of project management and the structure of a successful project. They will be able to take an active part in a project team and make a positive contribution to any project environment.

Free Registration when Becoming a Member
Individuals who take the exam will be eligible for free registration when applying for membership to the Association.This offer is only available for six weeks after the exam (valid from the date on the results letter)

Associate member or member of APM	£105.00 + VAT

Prices are correct at the time of print.  APM reserve the right to increase the price of their fees.

Registering
There are two ways you can register to sit the APM Introductory Certificate: by registering for a training course and exam with an accredited training provider, or by self-study and sitting the exam only on one of APM’s open events.

Refer to http://www.apm.org.uk/ProfessionalDevelopment.asp to see a list of the companies who are accredited to provide the Introductory Certificate course and exam.

Please contact them directly to find out dates, prices and locations. If you follow a training course with an accredited training provider an application form to register for the exam will be provided for you.

To sit the Introductory Certificate exam on one of APM’s Open Events:
To register for an Open Examination please complete a qualifications application form and return it by e-mail/post.

Places are allocated on a first come first served basis when the completed application form and full payment has been received. Spaces are limited, so booking early is recommended. No bookings can be taken less than 10 working days before the examination.

Payment can be made by cheque (payable to APM) or by credit/debit card. If you wish to pay by card, please include a telephone number so that we can take your payment
